Four Days off...with turkey

Yay, four days off!

Remember those $5-$7/hr jobs that never paid you sick or vacation? If you had to take a day off, you'd take a financial hit? And if you called in sick, you'd actually have to worry that you might be fired for it? And if you took a vacation, you'd take a serious hit financially, 'cause you were not only spending money to go someplace, but you weren't bringing money in for next month's rent?

THAT SUCKED.

And so my nice, cushy job, with paid holidays is what I am most thankful for this time of year. Good riddance, bookstore/movie theatre/vintage store/restaurant jobs. Good riddance.

Oh, plus the Thanksgiving turkey was good.

p.s. I remember reading somewhere that more people come out of the closet to their families during Thanksgiving more than any other holiday. Ever since I read that, I keep looking around the Thanksgiving table every year trying to figure out who it's gonna be. It's a wildly entertaining secret Thanksgiving game I play. I love it. Also, that guy in the green shirt looks to me like he's about to come out to his WASPY family...or maybe his Riesling pouring Dad will. Hmmm.
